The pattern

Abbreviations:

  • ch: chain
  • sc: simple crochet
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • BLO: back loop only
  • FLO: front loop only

Colors:

  • color 1: light brown
  • color 2: dark brown
  • color 3: red
  • color 4: black

Legs (two pieces)

  1. With color 1, Make a magic ring, and secure with a stitch.
  2. Make 6 sc’s in the ring. Pull the ring closed as to form a circle. sl st in first sc, to join. [6]
  3. ch 1, 2 sc in each stitch around. sl st in first sc, to join. [12]
  4. Change to color 2.
  5. 1 sc in each stitch.  sl st in first sc, to join. [12]
  6. ch 1, 1 sc in each stitch.  sl st in first sc, to join. [12]
  7. Cut the yarn and pull through the stitch.

Face/bottom (two pieces)

  1. With color 2, make a magic ring, and secure with a stitch.
  2. Make 6 sc’s in the ring. Pull the ring closed as to form a circle. [6]
  3. ch 1, 2 sc in each stitch around. sl st in first sc, to join. [12]
  4. ch 1, *2 sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in next stitch*. sl st in first sc, to join. [18]
  5. Use some safety eyes and a circle shaped felt to make the eyes and nose on the face piece.

Body (one piece)

  1. Make a slipknot on your hook and take the face piece.
  2. sc BLO in each stitch around the circle.
  3. sc in each stitch, in spiral. Keep sc.
  4. Cut the yarn and pull through the stitch.

Barretina (aka red hat) (one piece)

  1. With color 3, make a magic ring, and secure with a stitch.
  2. Make 6 sc’s in the ring. Pull the ring closed as to form a circle. [6]
  3. ch 1, 2 sc in each stitch around. sl st in first sc, to join. [12]
  4. ch 1, *2 sc in the next stitch, 1 sc in next stitch*. sl st in first sc, to join. [18]
  5. sc in each stitch. sl st in first sc, to join. Do it for 3 rounds.
  6. Change to color 4.
  7. 1 sc in each stitch.  sl st in first sc, to join. [18]
  8. ch 1, 1 sc in each stitch.  sl st in first sc, to join. [18]
  9. Cut the yarn and pull through the stitch.

Blanket

  1. Cut some fabric and sew it :)

Joining parts

  1. Sew the legs to the body.
  2. Stuff the body piece, and thread the yarn end through the needle to sew to the bottom piece FLO.
  3. Stuff the barretina, and sew it to the body. You can bend the front part and sew it.
  4. Do a pair of stitches to join the blanket to the body, leaving it free at movement.
